WEB ADVERTISING
Sailinks has a simple philosophy on web adverts.
1. The advert home page should appear quickly so although a corporate logo/image is encouraged the idea is to welcome the visitor and not to win a graphic design contest. 2. The postal address, telephone, fax and email address should be displayed on all pages. Individual pages are often printed out by customers for future reference. Also not everybody has an email facility readily available.
3. An automatic email reply system should be build in to encourage rapid and easy response.
4. The page will be copyright of the advertiser and not be constrained by restrictions from the space provider (i.e. Multiplex Sailinks), encourage the viewer to print out the page.
5. All pages, other than the Home Page, should have a return to Home Page facility.
6. Include useful links to other pages e.g. weather, RNLI, RYA, NFSS, YCA, BMIF etc.
Advertising Rates
Starter Home Page
£50 plus VAT for first year.
Get on the net with your own Home Page. Price includes company name, address, telephone and fax numbers. Plus up to 200 words of text. (400 if you provide it on PC disk). Live e-mail link if you have your own e-mail address.
Standard Advert
£99 plus VAT for first year.
Your own Home Page with a colour picture and a colour logo, company name, address, telephone and fax numbers. Plus up to 400 words of text. (800 if you provide it on PC disk). Live e-mail link if you have your own e-mail address. Pictures and logos must be from a colour photograph or a 35mm transparency, logo needs to be "camera ready".
Deluxe Advert
£150 plus VAT for first year.
Home page plus three other pages. Four colour photos and a colour logo. Up to 750 words of text. (1500 if you provide it on PC disk). Visitors response page if you have your own e-mail address.
Extra Cost Services
The above adverts can be developed, expanded or modified throughout the year by as much or as little as you require with the addition of more text, diagrams, pictures, tables, backgrounds, animation’s or even sounds.
The Anchor or Link Page
From £50 plus VAT per year
This is a short home page to act as a front door onto client pages coming from either CompuServe or Pipex homepages. These organisations often provide very long URL's that look unprofessional and are most susceptible to keying errors because of their length.

www.sailinks.co.uk/yourname
This has three other advantages:
1. You can still write all your web site content with the exception of the "front door", which carries the links to either your index page or to each of your individual pages.
2. You have a British net address (co.uk) as opposed to American (com).
3. There is no need to put http:// in front as a web user recognises the www as the start.
Professional Design and Build
We can build a large web site with hundreds of items, prices, e-commerce shopping trolly, add animation’s, sound or scrolling script. Tell us what you want and we will give you a quotation.
Yacht Brokerage Information
We are a firm believer in the individual as opposed to the database approach to yacht sales. A database offers the buyer a fast route to a particular boat type and price, but the brokers name appears then almost by accident. The individual broker with his own advert on the net can build on reputation and personal service. I would be interested to know how many potential purchasers have ended up buying a different boat to their plan simply because it caught their eye at the brokerage or because the broker recommended it as a sound alternative.
The Standard Brokerage Page
From £40 initial set up and £1.50 per boat per year (all plus VAT)
This is a basic home page giving your name, address, telephone, fax, mobile and email(if applicable), opening hours and contact names. Then each boat for sale is charged once for putting on the following details.Type, year of manufacture, keel type, length, location and price.
eg Westerly Centaur, 1974, bilge, 26ft, Hamble,£12000
This can then stay there for up to a year. Deletion is FOC but changes and additional boats are charged at £1.50 per boat. Minimum invoice charge £10 plus vat.
The Deluxe Brokerage Page
From £80 initial set up and £2 per boat per year (all plus VAT)
This is a deluxe home page headed by your corporate logo and a colour picture plus your name, address, telephone, fax, mobile and email(if applicable), opening hours and contact names. Then each boat for sale is charged once for putting on the following details.
Type, year of manufacture, keel type, length, location, price and twenty words of description.
eg Westerly Centaur, 1974, bilge, 26ft, Hamble, £12000 Excellent condition, epoxied 1994 B layout, VHF, Autohelm, log, GPS, roller reefing genoa, 6 berths a really nice family cruiser.
Colour pictures (from your original) can be added at £6 per picture
This can then stay there for up to a year. Deletion is FOC but changes and additional boats are charged at £2.00 per boat. Minimum invoice charge £10 plus vat.
Own Domain Set-up and Operation
www.yourname.co.uk
We can advise and assist you in setting up your own domain on the internet. Once the domain is operational we can produce the pages either for you or with you and manage the domain as long as you require. If you are moving on from an advert on sailinks, and you require us to manage the new site, we will keep a live change of address page running on your old page for six months at no charge.
